#NoDAPL Day of Action - March of Solidarity

From Climate Convergence: Changemakers are Invited to Join Our March of Solidarity

As you may have seen on your Facebook news feed or on the regular news, there has been an ongoing peaceful protest against a pipeline at Standing Rock, North Dakota that has been met with violent resistance from police, military & security personnel.

Several nights ago, the police violently attacked peaceful water protectors at Standing Rock. Police used tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper spray, sound grenades, and sprayed them with water cannons in subfreezing conditions. Hundreds of people were injured and one woman may have her arm amputated.

As part of a week of global action in solidarity with the water protectors of Standing Rock, from Nov 25 to Dec 1, First Nations leaders and concerned citizens will march through downtown Vancouver to protest three Canadian financial institutions—Scotiabank, Royal Bank (RBC), and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD)—that have significant investments in the Dakota Access Pipeline.
