hi Nattalia,
Thanks for your interest in supporting this great film.

The film will be at Gene Siskel for only 1 week; on Saturday, December 3rd, the show will start at 5:45pm.

Regarding group discounts at the Gene Siskel Film Center:

Groups of 20 or more are eligible for the group rate of $8 per ticket. Please call[masked] or visit the box office (hours below) in advance (5 days before the show is best) to make arrangements for your group.
If you are bringing a larger group (over 40 people), are interested in buying out the theater for a particular show, or are interested in bringing a school group, please contact Pamela Smith at[masked] or[address removed].
Also, next week I'll send you an e-card with all of the basic information that you can forward to your members.  But if you have any further questions about this film, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks again,

I would love to schedule a viewing at a discounted rate. Would it be possible to have a viewing on a weekend? Like on a Saturday afternoon? Is there a minimum number of people required for the group discount? Let me know!

Brazilian film, Elite Squad: The Enemy Within Dec 2 - 8 at Gene Siskel Film Center

I'm writing regarding the film Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (Tropa de Elite 2) from director Jose Padilha, and City of God writer Bráulio Mantovani. The gritty action-drama was a box office smash, becoming the highest grossing film of all time in Brazil, and was recently chosen as Brazil's official entry for this year's Academy Awards. We at Variance Films have teamed with Flatiron Films to bring this hit to the US as it deserves to be seen- uncut, undubbed, and on the big screen- and we thought your group would be particularly interested in it.

Following the film's huge success in Brazil, Jose Padilha, signed on to direct the new Robocop remake, but before he becomes a name people recognize for Hollywood blockbusters, we think they should know him for the tight, hardboiled, and politically driven thrillers he made about life in Brazil. Elite Squad: The Enemy Within opens in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center on December 2nd for ONE WEEK ONLY, and we thought you might like to help spread the word about the film- not only because it's an intense ride your members are bound to enjoy, but to be a part of helping this great film get its due (and maybe even an Oscar win for Brazil!)

The trailer is currently one of the most popular on iTunes, and you can see the upcoming theaters schedule on the website at, or Like the film on Facebook to view stills and more info (

The film would be a great event for a meetup; So, if you would be interested in letting your members know about the film now, and that we'd love their help in getting the word out, then if you'd like to set a meet this month to see it, we'd be happy to help you arrange for discounted group tickets, and possibly a giveaway.

I'd be happy to provide more details on how we might work together, so please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Thanks so much- and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this!
