What we're about

We are a well established toastmasters club in central London, well known for our friendly and warm atmosphere. If you want to improve your public speaking, interpersonal skills, elevator pitches or just come and have a fun evening with other like-minded individuals, come down as a guest (It's free!)

The maximum you have to do is say your name and what brought you here. But if you are feeling adventurous you can volunteer for an impromptu speech and get speaking straight away!

Improve your public speaking and leadership skills at Society Speakers

Want to be a more powerful and persuasive speaker? Wished you had more poise and self-possession when being put on the spot? Want to add some humour and drama to your delivery? Or just gain a bit of confidence? At Society Speakers, we create a safe and friendly environment where you can practice your public speaking and leadership skills. Or just enjoy the show. We are a small club and a friendly bunch. After the meeting, many of us head down to the local pub - for a drink or a cool lime & soda. We try hard to make this a friendly, fun and supportive environment, so that public speaking is no longer the scary experience it can be for many people. The first half of the meeting is for prepared speeches and their evaluation. The second half is dedicated to impromptu speeches, where you too can speak if you wish to (we do not force anyone to speak if they prefer not to). At the end of the meeting, we have a vote for best speakers and best evaluator. During the break and after the meeting, guests can mingle and ask any questions they might have. For guests who volunteer for impromptu speeches, we can offer feedback and suggestions. Mostly, though, our meetings are just a fun and interesting way to spend an evening. And and if you're struggling to find the place, it's across the road from an Indian YMCA and a few doors down from Fitzroy Square Garden. The door is locked so please just ring the doorbell.
