Classic Cuba - 11 Days - 19th April 2021

Needs a location

£799.00

Whether it’s the white sand beaches, the Spanish colonial architecture or the rum fuelled nightlife that’s drawing you to this Caribbean island, our Cuba tour is perfect for any Solo Traveller. Join us for 10 amazing nights as we travel to the colourful Cuban capital, Havana, experience authenticity in the Cuban city of Santa Clara with its plentiful local music venues, and relax in Trinidad on unspoiled stretches of white sand beaches, perfect for snorkelling and diving. We also visit Cienfuegos, deemed the ‘Pearl of the South’, with the option to partake in some outdoor activities in the culturally rich village of Vinales. Whatever you’re looking for, Cuba has something for all Solo Travellers.

19th April 2021 - Day 1 – Arrive Havana

Today is an arrival day so there are no planned activities. If you arrive in time, you can join your guide and the rest of the group for dinner to get to know your fellow travellers!

Day 2 – Havana

After breakfast you will be taken on a walking tour around the city of Havana with a local guide.

Day 3 – Havana

The third day of this Cuba tour will be spent at your leisure in Havana.

Day 4 – Havana / Santa Clara

After breakfast, you will be heading inland to Santa Clara, a key city in the Cuban revolution. Upon entering Santa Clara, you will see a huge statue of Ernesto Che Guevara, which commemorates his death and those who were murdered with him in Bolivia. There is also a museum here dedicated to his life, which you will have time to visit if you wish. In Santa Clara you will experience a more authentic Cuba, with an abundance of local restaurants and music venues in this small, friendly town.

Day 5 / 6 / 7 – Trinidad

No other colonial city in Cuba is as well preserved as Trinidad. Steeped in religiosity, the local residents are extremely friendly and festive. The thing most people love about this place is the nightlife; there are no less than 10 live music venues all within a short walking distance of each other. Many of these have beautiful outdoor settings in courtyards, and within walls of old colonial ruins. In Trinidad you will also be near the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of Sugarmills) and Playa Ancón, where you can enjoy long stretches of white sand beaches, and get involved with activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, waterfall swimming and horse-riding.

Day 8 – Trinidad / Cienfuegos

After breakfast, you will travel to the French-founded city of Cienfuegos, through the densely vegetated Peninsula de Zapata swamp lands, and along the beautiful Bay of Pigs. This is where the landing of counter-revolutionary exile militia occurred in 1961. You will visit a museum here which recounts the events of this conflict. You will have some free time to explore Cienfuegos upon arrival. Overnight in Cienfuegos.

Day 9 – Cienfuegos / Viñales

After breakfast, you will make your way onto Pinar del Rio and the town of Viñales. Surrounded by picturesque limestone hills, Viñales is a small but culturally rich village with friendly and welcoming locals and a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, exploring caves and horseback riding, which you will have the option to partake in. Viñales is one of the cooler parts of Cuba, so an abundance of fresh seasonal fruit and veg is always on offer. Although a small village, the nightlife remains as good as anywhere in Cuba.
