Somali Life is a branch of the Somali Londoners (meetup group). Somali Life is open to all Somalis based in London and the neighboring oustskirts, who are 25 years of age and over, including those who are married, single, parents or single parents, the guideline age group is from mid-20's, 30's and 40's. The group is member led, so all members will have access to organise if they want and can choose to bring meetups local to them.
This group enables Somalis to socialise and connect with their culture whilst taking part in fun, active and cultural activities that are organised by both the organisers team as well as the members. There will be socials such as museum hangouts, camping, day and weekend trips to places in the UK (such as Bournemouth, Cambridge, Isle of Wight), as well as meetups such as Somali language conversation hangouts, Somali culture events such as poetry and attending Somali music festivals and concerts. In addition to the fun socials events and their will also be meetups focusing on growth in terms of personal development (as an individual, parent or spouse, culture), professional development (career, training and education advice) and financial growth. e.g. (budgeting and investing for the future). This would be done through knowledge share sessions.
There will be meetups for on parents, to share advice and knowledge, as well as mum’s socials and dads get-togethers(socializing via football, playing pool).
As we understand, parents, families and mid-career professionals are quite busy, so our meetups that are organised by the organsers team are orgnanised with plenty of notice, so necessary arrangements can be made, such as childcare. Meetups will also be spaced out; this will be monthly or bi-monthly.
However members can feel free to arrange and organise a meetup (as you will have access to do this), If there isn’t an event posted up whether in person or online (we can provide you with a one off video link for online hangouts).
