    For Art Walk this month, we are shaking things up at Somewhere Along the Way! Join us for live acoustic music by Damaged Daughters AND our first ever live painting from local artist Robert Ponzio. You won't want to miss this! Kim Blackburn LeCouteur and Amber Waters are the Damaged Daughters, an acoustic duo, singing in and around North Central Florida since 2011. Damaged Daughters sings the music that moves them... from Americana to bluegrass, rock and original music. Robert Ponzio is a local artist and educator who utilizes his art as a powerful instrument for global outreach. As a Citizen Diplomat, he maintains an active involvement in several international cultural exchange projects with Oak Hall School. A strong passion and believer in the arts and music, Robert has participated in live painting events all over. Music and painting will start at 7 pm during Art Walk, we will be rocking till 10!     Enjoy a glass of wine, beer or cappuccino while surrounded by incredible works of art by regional artists and listening to the eloquent jazz sounds of Swan City Jazz Project -- LIVE at Somewhere Along the Way! Swan City Jazz Project plays jazz drawing from standards, blues, bossa nova, and funk, as well as original compositions. The group includes saxophonist Rick Runion, pianist Jody Marsh, and bassist (and UF grad) Philip Booth, all of whom are Lakeland natives and/or longtime residents. Rick and Jody frequently play with Philip's Tampa band Acme Jazz Garage (recent CD heard on 35 radio stations) and Philip has frequently played with Jody and Rick's band Free Time. Philip and Rick also play together in the band Zensemble, recently seen at Ella's and The Independent in Tampa. Swan City regularly appears at Frescos and The Loft in Lakeland, and other Florida venues and private events.   • Classical Guitarist Christopher Mrofchak

    Somewhere Along the Way

    An evening of classical guitar featuring classical guitarist, Christopher Mrofchak! Christopher Mrofchak is a classical guitarist based in Tallahassee, Florida. Originally from Northeastern Ohio, he began developing his performing abilities while studying guitar with his father at the age of eight. His formal studies began at the Dana School of Music of Youngstown State University under the direction of Dr. François Fowler. Christopher has since been the recipient of several awards including 3rd prize at the 2018 Indiana International Guitar Festival and Competition, 3rd prize 2018 at the Southern Guitar Festival and Competition, 3rd prize at the 2018 University of Louisville Guitar Festival and Competition, 2nd prize at the James Stroud All-Ohio guitar competition and 1st prize at the Troy University Guitar Competition. He has performed in major cities across the eastern United States including Akron, Boone, Cleveland, Columbia, Columbus, Gainesville, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Tallahassee, Warren, and Youngstown. Christopher maintains an active private guitar studio in addition to being an adjunct instructor of guitar at Chipola College and teaching assistant to world-renowned pedagogue Bruce Holzman at Florida State University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts, which will culminate in a treatise discussing three portraits by the brilliant Brazilian composer and virtuoso Sérgio Assad. Christopher performs on a cedar top guitar by Rafael Granados. The event is free, however seating is limited. We teach you how to paint with step-by-step instructions, provide the paint, canvas and all painting supplies. Sip from our selection of wine and craft beer (adults 21 and over) or enjoy an espresso, coffee, tea, Dry Soda, Lake Chaplain chocolates, and other tasty treats as you create your very own masterpiece. Attendees receive a 10% discount on all food and beverage purchases during the session. You will paint your very own "Landscape" painting on 11” x 14” canvas using acrylics. We do provide aprons, so wear whatever is comfortable. However, acrylic paint will not stain your skin, hair or nails, but it will not come out of fabric when it dries… and it dries very quickly… so dress for mess!
