What instrument(s) do you use to write your music?

My brain...accompanied in part by my guitar.

What comes easier for you - words or music?

Definitely the words.

Do you imagine yourself or someone else performing your songs?

Are you interested in collaboration or finding a songwriting partner?

Collaboration has rarely worked. I have friends who I bring completed and semi-completed works to for perspective and suggestions. That way I retain ownership and friendship!

What areas of your music experience are you wanting to improve? e.g. songwriting, marketing, networking, recording, airplay, gigs, etc.

I'm a NY-bred folkie with early influences by Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, and later, John Prine. I am known for my political humor/topical songs (Rush is a Four-Letter Word" & "Keep Your Hands Offa My Junk!"). I am also noted for serious story songs.

What Gary K. is saying about this Meetup Group

Remarkable feat to be able organize over 500 songwriters and fellow travelers into one identifiable herding cats...only more-so!
