Sonic Meditation featuring the music of Listeningtosmile.com
A sonic meditation is a visceral, shamanic-like sound journey designed for the modern world. The intention is to target the energy centers within your body to help facilitate a space for self-exploration and deep connection.
We create an environment that is conducive for meditation, relaxation, and joy. Each event lasts about an hour and a half and utilizes different genres of music, instrumentation, tempos, and frequencies to create a sonic wave of energy that is peaceful and transformational.
There is a heavy focus on intention setting, breath work, connecting the group energy, learning about frequency, exploring chakras, and understanding the monthly astrological energy.
The events are usually presented with surround sound speakers in order for you to feel the vibrations of the frequencies through your entire body. You will feel the music move through you in the form of vibration. The music will be played at a moderate, yet safe level. Each meditation experience and each participant's reaction to the experience is unique.
As you enter this space and meditation you may experience a variety of emotions, thoughts, or sensations. Some may be very pleasant and others may be a little uncomfortable. If you experience any uncomfortable emotions, this just represents the confronting of stagnant energy for release. Relax and participate as fully as you are willing.
It is recommended that you bring a yoga mat or and something to cover yourself with and an eye pillow or eye mask for your eyes. Some people enjoy bringing their favorite essential oils, and crystals to charge your space. If you feel inspired, bring your journal to capture any thoughts that may arise during your experience.
Quiet reflection, self-care, and drinking adequate water (hydration) are recommended afterward.
A donation of $15-$20 is recommended for this offering but no one will be turned away.
