Please can you Share - [Latest Update 27 Going so far - Booking Essential] - Soulful Beginner walk or ideal for those new to the group in joining - Route and Soulful Nature Experience on Offer – Contour Path via Silverstream Waterfall towards Kloof Nek Corner, offering stunning views towards Lions Head, Signal Hill & Camps Bay, passing a number of waterfalls on route – Sunday – 24th June 2018 @ 9.30am – [6.95km] - Finished time of walk @ approx 4pm ==> TRAIL MAP ROUTE – https://www.mapometer.com/walking/route_4312283.html

Looking at the long term rain forecast for next week there is more rain forecasted on Thursday and Friday, so the waterfalls on route will be flowing. Most of these waterfalls only flow during the rainy season in winter.

#########################

PLEASE NOTE THE WINTER START TIME IS @ 9.30am – If you want to join, please send me your cell number and where you stay, so we share transport costs if possible.

Please give yourself extra time, as people often underestimate the travelling time in getting there. It’s about 25min travelling time from the City Central Cape Town Or to check where you are coming from see link - https://tinyurl.com/y9q6qben

@@@ Please ensure you prepare for all weather conditions; a good raincoat is a must, regardless of the weather. The rain coat also acts as a multi-purpose windbreaker to keep you warm, if the wind picks up. Winter has arrived best to hike in long pants, a fleecy top / jersey, a rain coat, beanie and gloves. Rather bring more as we can layer down. Don’t forget to bring a hot drink for the breaks. 2 Litres is a must as a minimum for all walks on offer, even more on hotter or humid weather condition days.

This walk is a Beginner Soulful Walk. However if you are new to the group and have any doubt of your fitness, due to the terrain or duration, please call and I can advise accordingly. Extra time is however allocated to the breaks and there will also be time for taking pictures and to enjoy this beautiful part of our country ;-)

My aim is to connect like-minded people in the safety of a group in a sense of community who share similar soulful interests out in nature ;-)

#########################

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS WALK ON OFFER
--------------------------------------

@ The stunning views towards Lions Head, Signal Hill and Over Camps Bay
@ This is another one of those walks that offers a number of waterfalls that only flows in winter after the rains

#########################

@ -- This is a reminder and very important when joining any of the hikes on offer, don’t forget your water, this should be at least 2 litres and more if it is a hot day. What to wear on the hike. Comfortable hiking clothes (trousers / shorts). In winter long pants are preferable due to the change of temperatures. Jersey or fleecy top. As the weather often heats up during the day, it is good to wear clothes that you can layer on or off. Pack extra, thinner tops as gusty wind can cause the temperature to change quite dramatically. In summer a peak cap for the sun, in a winter beanie or buff and gloves just in case and very important a rain coat no matter the weather conditions, as this also acts as a wind breaker. Remember a warm hiker is a happy hiker ;-) --- being cold or wet on route affects you and the group adversely.

Awakening Intuition Nature Walk Experience / Events - Promoting a sense of community & connectedness with like-minded soulful people – From – http://www.intuitionwalks.com /&/ http://www.awakening-intuition.com

WHAT IS ON OFFER
================

What is on offer is a soulful nature experience with like-minded people, with lots of extra time allocated to breaks to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings, a morning tea break on route, our lunch break, our swimming break and quiet time out in nature for reflection on our return route after lunch.

#########################

For this walk we will be doing a walk on the Lower Contour Path via Silverstream Waterfall to Kloof Nek Corner, taking in the Stunning views towards Camps Bay, Lions Head, Signal Hill and the Waterfront. This is another one of those walks that offers a number of waterfalls that only flows in winter it will be great to see if the waterfall is flowing. The meeting point is on Tafelberg Road (the Road where the lower Cable car is located), at the start of the Saddle Path Walk. From our starting point, we will take a fairly easy upward zigzagging walk to the Lower Contour Path, which runs parallel directly above Tafelberg Road. The route will then take us on a level path past the Silver Stream waterfall, which flows in winter. This will be our first tea stop for the morning. We will also visit Union Cave on route after the rains you can watch views of Cape Town behind the waterfall. From here we will head on to the Fire outlook, which has spectacular views of Kloof Nek and Camps Bay. This will also be our lunch spot, as we take in the breath taking views. The route will take us back the same way with alternative views. We will meet up for coffee or tea after the walk.

You are invited to join us for a walk that will be suitable for most levels of fitness, but some minimum level of fitness is required due the duration, however the pace will not be hurried. If you are not sure of your fitness or have not been before, please call, however extra time is allocated to the breaks.

[Time permitting after the walk we will meet up for tea or Coffee. The estimated time of walk end will be at 4pm - It also great to bring a black bag to sit on for our breaks to keep your pants dry.

#########################

COST: R50.00 - Per Person for the organised walk, payable on the day.
==> Meet @ 9.30am – [6.95km] --- Return time @ 4pm
==> [10 Going so far - Booking Essential]
==>The Weather forecast is set to be sunny. Temperature - max 20c / min 12c
@ Please note that unfortunately no dogs are allowed on any of the walks that are on offer.

#########################

PLEASE NOTE CANCELLATION POLICY.
Due to the large numbers of no-shows, especially on the day of the walk or the night before.
For this trail – no shows or those cancelling 24 hours prior to the trail, unless sick and have called or sent me a message, will be charged a no-show fee on the next trail. This is especially where people booked one or two friends and they don’t show or cancel, then the person booking will be liable for the extra amount on the next walk per person. The only conditions that affect this if you cancel, if there is a forecast of rain on the day of the walk.

#########################

Please note that when booking. The joining options on Facebook are - JOIN or MAYBE for all facebook events or if the event shows INTERESTED, clicking this means you are going. If you are not sure that you can commit to the walk on the day, then pls mark yourself as maybe / not going.

My 3 x listings combined are over 5000 people and events are popular and tend to fill up quickly. The reason that I am structuring it this way is that people who do want to join get turned away because the event is full and that is most unfair for them, when booked people do not arrive. It is impossible for me to follow up each person individually and the responsibility of marking yourself appropriately lies with each member. If you do change your mind please update your status or on the day send me a whatapp or a sms only.

Please do read the instructions in full as it contains all the relevant instructions for the hike, for example, meeting time, what to bring, fitness, and starting point. For future in my group those who have not let me know prior to the walk starting, will be removed from the walk listing.

#########################

A reminder for those who have not been on the walks before, the walks are intended to be of such a nature that we are able to slow down and through our senses, experience some of the wonders that nature has to offer. The slowing down creates an opportunity for re-connection within. Not to mention seeing some of Cape Town’s magical spots. Normally 2 hours of the time allocated is set aside for breaks. This time out offers a great way to meet and connect with like-minded people who share similar interests

#########################

==> DURATION OF WALK - Start time at 9.30am - [6.95km] -- Return time @ aprox 4pm

Approximately 6 hours - (please note that these times may vary) with sufficient time to stop along the way. 2 hours of the allocated time is set aside for breaks and to explore the wonders of nature. This walk will be a walk suitable for those with a moderate minimum level of fitness, but the pace will not be hurried.....Bring along something to eat for lunch, tea or coffee for one of the break stops, comfortable walking shoes, a hat and/or beanie (for the wind) sun block, a jersey, a rain coat, a must regardless as it can also act as a wind breaker to keep you warm and sufficient water (NB at least 2.5 Litres of water)

For more info and directions, you can email or call me on Tel:[masked] or [masked]

#########################

SAFETY AND FITNESS - This is for those that are new to hiking or joining our group walks for the first time. This is for those that are concerned about fitness in joining. We cover the same routes as most other groups, but take longer as more time is allocated to breaks (Normally about 2 hours during the day). This extra time provides is a day out in nature, time to connect with the beauty of nature, including plenty of opportunity for taking pictures. Our mission is to provide an enjoyable day out in nature and meet like-minded soulful people. As group safety are paramount, we walk at the pace of the slowest person, (without any pressure). There is always an experienced hiker at the rear to assist anyone who is struggling and ensure no-one is left behind. We have first aid kits as well as at least 2 x two-way radios on all the walks to enable communication between leader and the person covering the rear at all times. FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/intuitionwalks/

This is the perfect group you if are a beginner, with every second walk suitable for all levels of fitness and this will give you a chance to build up fitness levels. I also do not repeat a hiking route within a 12 month cycle, which offers an expanded range of walks on offer. If hike is more strenuous or exposed, this will be communicated in the walk description, indicated by comparing against popular hikes (for example Lions Head)

#########################

LEVEL OF FITNESS

@ -- The walk on the 24th of June 2018 is suitable for most levels of fitness, but some minimum fitness is required due to the distance covered on the trail
@@ -- If you have any doubts about the type of walk or pace in terms of fitness level, please call me and I can advise accordingly.
@@@ -- In general, the walks on offer are at a slower pace than most of the other walking groups. I cater extra time for allocated breaks along the way.

#########################

WHAT TO BRING ALONG & SAFETY GUIDELINES

*These requirements are for all walks if you wish to join, as individual safety affects the whole group*

@ -- Most important - proper footwear. This being comfortable walking shoes (hiking boots for ankle support) or a good pair of running shoes. Please no crocs or sandals and do not come on a walk without any shoes or bare feet. You need to have a decent grip on the trail, as your safety affects the whole group. Also bring along a black bag to sit on in winter to keep your pants dry, if the grass or rocks are wet.
@ -- Bring along something to eat for the tea break and lunch, trail snacks / fresh fruit, juice or flask for tea / coffee or cup a soup in winter. Sunblock very important and don’t forget your water, this should be at least 2 litres and more if it is a hot day. En route you should be drinking at least 1 full cup every 60min.
@ -- What to wear on the hike. Remember a warm hiker is a happy hiker ;-). In summer a peak cap for the sun, in a winter beanie or buff and gloves just in case and very important a rain coat no matter the weather conditions, as this also acts as a wind breaker.
@ -- A backpack (or daypack) to carry your supplies. A backpack with a hip belt is ideal; it allows the strong bones of your pelvis to support the pack's weight, easing the load on your shoulders.
@ -- As this is a group walk, stay with the group and for the entire duration of the hike. We depart and arrived back as a group, this is non-negotiable, as anyone leaving early affects the whole group.

***Please note that unfortunately no dogs are allowed on any of the walks that are on offer.

Normally 2 hours of the time allocated is set aside for breaks. This time out offers a great way to meet and connect with like-minded people who share similar interests
