Qigong (pronounced ‘Chi Gong’) is the “Great Grandparent” of Tai Chi.Qigong is a 5000 year-old mind-body exercise which uses slow movements, breath, intention, sound, and posture to nurture and revitalize our life energy. Numerous studies have shown the many benefits of Qigong include: improved balance, lowered resting heart rate, decreased respiratory rate, boosted immune system, improved cerebral blood flow, and decreased stress response. Qigong is easy to learn and the benefits last a life time.Q
This open Qigong class will be varied with many different types of Qigong! Some of these types may include tapping the body, using sounds to help break energy blockages, learning about specific energy points and the basic principles of the 5-elements Traditional Chinese Medicine.
This is a co-ed class. However, when appropriate, we will practice Radiant Lotus for Women Qigong. RLWQ focuses on the specific organ and hormonal systems of Women. The slow movements, breath & intention of this program increase qi and blood circulation, improve lymph function and promote overall health….and we have fun in the process!
This class is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners.
