Maximizing lifespan & healthspan is be an introduction on how to live longer (lifespan), while also maximizing health quality (healthspan). Anyone over the age of 40 has an 80% or greater probability of dying from cardiovascular disease, cancer, or neurodegenerative diseases. Although eliminating these completely are likely many generations away, there are new advances that may help delay these diseases for decades while also improving quality of life. This presentation will introduction both the lifestyle changes and possible medications that are being studied to help accomplish this goal.

Dr. Nathan Pekar, MD, graduated from UT Southwest Medical School, Dallas, TX in 2001. Upon graduation he served as a military officer and doctor in the US Air Force. After leaving the service, Dr. Pekar moved to Austin, TX and has been practicing Family Medicine at Victory Medical since 2009.

Each week we spend 30 minutes on informal, open networking. After that, our discussions rotate weekly between educational topics, non-profit speakers, speed networking, and member spotlights.
