Aerial Silks I (Beginner)

For students with no or minimal previous experience with aerial silks, this class will introduce people to the joys of dancing in the air. This class focuses on building student's core strength, movement vocabulary, and understanding of proper technique. Students will work with the fabric both as free flowing silks and in a knot. Please arrive on time to ensure sufficient class time for warm up and cool down.

To minimize the possibility of abrasion, wear form-fitting workout clothes that cover knees and armpits (tights or leggings work well). Jewelry will need to be removed.

You can pre-purchase the class online or pay at the start of class.

Note that some people have had trouble finding Vega's. Be aware that if you're coming from Story Rd, Felipe Ave intersects itself and you will need to take a right turn to stay on Felipe Ave and find the studio. Also be aware that Vega's is in an industrial section of San Jose, so don't be fooled by the warehouses. You're probably in the right place.

could my 7 year old try this?

Yes, but not in this class. SBCA does not currently have kid's classes and we don't have concrete plans to add them in the near term. It's something we've gotten a LOT of inquiries about, but we don't have the time/space for it right now. However, Poletential in Redwood City has a kid's class, so you can check their website to see if their kid's class works with their schedule.

We also do have some times available for private/semi-private lessons, so your 7 year old could potentially try it that way.
