This club brings together people who like to go to dinner parties and make new friends. Each member couple agrees to host 3-4 other couples for a sit-down dinner and selects a date for their dinner when they join the club. Host provides the food and guests bring wine. Then that couple can join 3-4 other dinner parties throughout the year on a first-to-RSVP-basis. If they schedule or host a second dinner, then they can attend 3-4 more parties.

We are looking for people who love food, wine, friends, and have considerate RSVP and attendance manners and are punctual. If you have limited indoor space, you can set up small tables, rent a large one and host on the patio or outside, or borrow a house from a friend. You can host in an association room or in a restaurant (host pays for food) if they have a private room, but it will be hard for guests to bring and open wine at a restaurant.

Club membership will close when we have 28 active couples. Couples should be happy, stable and living together. Couples should be between the ages of roughly 45 and 69 and live in the 408 or close to it and be able to seat 8-10 at dinner. Couples with children should have reliable childcare and children should not be present in the house when you host. Membership dues of $5 upon joining.

So far we have had 30+ suppers. There will be 2-3 per month because we will have 28 active member couples and only 4ish couples attend each party. You can only RSVP to a planned party if you have selected and published your party date. If a spot is available 4 weeks before a party, you can join that party without it counting against your annual total (Bonus Time Suppers). People without credits or a scheduled party will be moved to the waitlist in favor of people who do.

Please include a picture of your couple with your profile when you apply. Use your computer not your phone to change your picture.

Tips and Suggestions: Even in a club it is not that easy to get people to attend your event. I have noticed that hosts who do this get better RSVPs: use a creative title, party theme, list a detailed menu of a bit out-of-the-ordinary food published at time of announcement, a good couple's photo, and list the city even if you want to restrict access to the address. You can even upload a picture of a recent party and link to it to give people an idea how good it will be. BTW, when you pour a glass of wine, assume the bottle will be split among all guests, so 3 oz pour max per bottle among a group of 8. Remember to use the waitlist once the party is full to make it easy to hit the target number of guests. Please do not RSVP Yes to couple's event if you have been to their supper before unless it is bonus time as this gives newer couples a chance to meet more tenured ones.
