This is an idea that came out a few years ago but never was executed due to lack of funding. But now, there are two people signed up as volunteers and they are eager to do this. I need several more to make this successful and affordable. This is a very small scale fashion show with no sponsors, but the intention is to have fun, play with some colors, wear nice gowns or dresses, meet other women, make friends, eat healthy food, and donate. Any money left after fashion-show-expenses would go to a local charity. Since holiday is around the corner, we will donate the rest of the money to a local homeless shelter.
I am looking for punctual, reliable people that can work as a team. So if you feel you have a little bit of time to help out and are serious in helping out, please sign up and attend our orientation meeting. There are also specific types of people that we would like to have as volunteers:
1. Food Lovers or/and Nutritionists --- the plan is to serve healthy meals with ingredients that would nourish your skin and body
2. Stylists -- if we don't have one in this group, I will see if I can get someone from Ann Taylor or Banana Republic to help us out
3. Anyone that has really nice outfits to show off. You can model it yourself. I am posting my orange gown and anyone with size 0 can model in it. I wore it only one time and I doubt I would wear it again in the future. I will not be a model because I will be the photographer of the show.
The fashion show is scheduled for Dec 7 in the early evening.
One thing I need to clarify is that by volunteering, you would still pay for the fashion show itself because we use the ticket sales to pay for the food, wine, space and other things that we need. But of course you would pay slightly less, perhaps $5-$10 cheaper. Again, this is not a commercial event. I will pay for the ticket price, too, just like you do. Everything is done out of the desire to have fun, meet other people, party and donate.
Meeting place would be announced to those who RSVPed a few days before the meeting.
