Let's ride!

We have not been here in a few years. I will try to keep this ride to around 10-12 miles.

There may be a $6 park entrance fee for each car.

This should be an advanced beginner, Level 2 ride.

We will meet at 11:00 AM.
Tires roll at 11:13 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present.

Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.

Ride Description: The west side of Harvey Bear is grass-covered hillsides with fireroads and a few doubletracks. There is a route along the ridgeline at the top of the hill. The trails on the east side are pretty nice. They tend to be shaded with more ups and downs and slight bends. There are no technical trails here, no jumps, stunts, or rock gardens.

Directions:
Mendoza Ranch entrance - From U.S. Highway 101 in Gilroy, take the Leavesley Road exit. Proceed east on Leavesley Road 2 miles to New Avenue. Proceed north on New Avenue .5 miles to Roop Road. Proceed east on Roop Road 3 miles into the foothills. Turn left into the park.

Meet at the parking lot area just after the entrance.

Please remember to wear a helmet, bring water, and check that your bike is ready to ride. Also remember to carry an extra tube, (or two) and a chain master link with you that fits your bike. Its ok if you need help to repair it, you will have the items needed to keep your ride going.

***RSVPing YES for a ride and not showing will get you moved to the wait list on the next ride you do wish to go on. Please be courteous and drop out early enough to give the more reliable riders a chance to adjust their schedules and attend.
