SHUTTLE INFO!!! ~ I will post the shuttle time when the trails open!
I am 'NOT' going to reserve a shuttle for the group, you will need to call and pay in advance for your own shuttle seat.
Shuttle leaves at 10:00 AM.
This is an intermediate level 3+ group ride in an awesome wooded single-track paradise.
Shuttle to Packer Saddle ~ Sunrise ~ Pauley Creek ~ Lower Butcher ~ Third Divide ~ First Divide ~ Downtown ~ Beer(optional) Route subject to change.
As event host, I reserve the right to change your RSVP should I feel you're not ready for this ride location or you have been a no show on my past rides. Hard tail bikes will not be allowed. RSVP priority will be given to current members in good standing.
This will be another great ride for our group to go the next step for some awesome mountain bike rides. Here are a few links for all the info you need for booking your weekend there, http://www.yubaexpeditions.com/pages/downievilleaccommodations.html - www.downievilleoutfitters.com/ - www.yubaexpeditions.com/ - http://www.sierracountychamber.com/ - http://www.herringtonssierrapines.com/
If you plan ahead now, you may want to get a room as they do fill fast.
This will be the official hotel for the weekend ~ http://www.herringtonssierrapines.com/
We will take the shuttle that leaves from Yuba Expeditions or Downieville Outfitters for this ride, (more info as time gets closer). Let them know you're going to the drop off point at Packer Saddle. They say the record is 38 minutes for the Downhill Run, most riders do it in 2-4 hours. However, I may take about 5 hours by taking pictures and just enjoying the trails and views.
The trail begins at 7100 feet elevation and ends at 2800 feet over the course of 14 miles. I have been told by the crew at Downieville Outfitters that there are some very technical areas, however they said it is not so technical that you can't walk your bike past.
Remember: you must plan ahead, and reserve your shuttle spot and find a place to stay, rooms fill up fast!
The sites above have lots of info on the trails, where to stay, places to eat, even camping areas.
If you want to head up and do a different trail/trails, have at it. Just sign up and we can discuss the choices.
Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guests are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.
Post ride fun at the river with a cooler!
***Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides.***
