This ride will be at a casual/Mellow pace. Yes, I can do a social/mellow ride!
For those that need to get out on your bike and work off some turkey, come on out and enjoy a great place on the coast with awesome views! Bring water and a snack as there will be a chance to take a break to enjoy your ride. I am going to plan on riding along the coastal trail at the end.
Meet at 10:15 AM in the main parking lot. There are restrooms available. We will then ride to the tunnel under Highway 1. If you park in the Wilder Ranch parking lot, there is a fee to park. I recommend to pay the parking fee in support of & our use of the state parks.
Tires roll at 10:31 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present. Please be there by the meet time, we don't want to leave without you.
An optional gathering at a local place for rehydration & food will follow after the ride.
Difficulty: "Easy to moderate, with smooth wide trails for beginners and a few single-tracks. On my scale of 1-5, 1 being easy - I will say this ride may be a 2-3.
Where: Wilder Ranch State Park, Hwy 1, just north of Santa Cruz.
Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.
Rain will cancel. Check this listing the morning of the ride. I will post by 8 AM a weather update if we need to cancel.
***Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides.***
