Our Cloud Network Engineering team will cover a variety of topics related to network management and troubleshooting on the cloud at Netflix scale.

Talk #1: "Evolution of Network Engineering at Netflix" - Andrew Braham, Manager, Cloud Network Engineering
The network industry has undergone a massive shift over the past decade.  Cloud providers, such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have abstracted the network as a component of the cloud infrastructure.  We’ll describe how the networking team has evolved to manage and optimize the cloud networking infrastructure. Additionally, we’ll discuss some of the network operational transformations and the challenges ahead.

Talk #2:  "Revolutionary IP Address Management" - Donavan Fritz, Senior Network SRE
Donavan will discuss how we audit and track IP addresses used on the cloud.  Covering the challenges at scale with a (very) dynamic cloud environment, the tooling we have built, and effectiveness of those tools.

Talk #3: "Dredge, a stream processing system for network traffic" - John Bennett, Senior Software Engineer
Bennett will discuss Dredge, the system he built for real-time stream processing of high-volume network traffic logs.  He will discuss the motivations behind Dredge and how it works to provide insight into traffic patterns that help to improve the resiliency of the entire Netflix ecosystem.

Talk #4: "DNS Wrangling, a quest for redundancy in a non-compliant world" - Joel Kodama, Senior Network SRE
DNS redundancy has been on the minds of many companies as of recent, and for good reason.  While achieving redundancy may see somewhat trivial, there are many challenges to maintain the same functionality across multiple providers.  We will dive into some of these challenges and how we have addressed them.
