Wine Tasting at Uncorked - Summer Kick-Off Party

Details

Summer is here and it’s a great time to enjoy those wines for those summer nights. Tonight we’ll be at the Uncorked Wine Shop in Hermosa Beach for their Summer Kick-Off Party. With more than 600 wines from all over the world, Uncorked is a retail shop which features award-winning wines as well as hard-to-find boutique selections. For our hops and barley fans, Uncorked offers craft beers, both domestic and imported!

Tonight Joni Mader with Tourquoise Wines will be pouring a selection of wines perfect your summer evenings and outings – concerts, picnics, lounging by the pool, etc. Joni will be there to answer all your questions. Here are the 5 wines she will be pouring:

Rose from Vievite Wines – This varietal is a blend of 30% Cinsault, 30% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% Carign. This wine offers a fresh and delicate aroma of cherries and strawberries with notes of spices emanating soft hues of pale pink and coral to create a satisfying sensation on the palate.

Rose from Breezette Wines - A light, well-balanced, fruit forward rosé wine that is simple crisp, refreshing and thirst-quenching. It is rich with ripe exotic citrus fruits, like pineapple and red grapefruit, and has a hint of sea salt given the winery’s close proximity to the sea. With its light golden color and its perfect minerality and fruit flavors, this is a true and traditional expression of a beautifully crafted Provence rosé wine.

Albarino Wine from Balladina Wines - Albarino is a varietal of white wine grape grown in Galicia (northwest Spain), Monção and Melgaço (northwest Portugal), where it is used to make varietal white wines. The grape is noted for its distinctive aroma, very similar to that of Viognier, Gewurztraminer, and Petit Manseng, suggesting apricot and peach.

French White Rhone Blend from Chateau Allegret - This varietal is usually rich in fruit flavors and aromatics. Three of the primary grapes, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne are intense on aromatics & texture. The fourth primary grape used in the blend is Grenache Blanc, a fairly neutral grape with crisp acid & high sugars. Flavors of white Rhone blends include spice, nut, honeysuckle and green apple.

White Bordeaux from Capitoul Wines – This varietal is mostly from grapes of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, or Muscadelle. White Bordeaux wines can either tend to be dry or semi-dry or sweet.

There will be cheeses, charcuterie, crackers and fine chocolates to accompany the wines. Additional artisan cheeses, breads & charcuterie are also available for purchase between $5 - $15.

The cost for the wine tasting is $15. You can pay at Uncorked (cash or credit card). If you purchase or order 3 or more bottles of the wines being poured this evening, the wine tasting is free. Joni Mader will be at Uncorked until 6:30 PM. You are welcome to come later if you wish. Uncorked will continue to pour these wines after Joni leaves until closing time.

There is metered parking – bring plenty of change. You can also look for street parking. Please read the signs for any restrictions. It should be a great evening. Look forward to seeing you there!
