If you've never ridden in the Alps, it's hard to imagine how breathtaking it is riding on some of Europe's most amazing roads, surrounded by the beauty and majesty of snowcapped peaks. It's a must on the bucket list.

The plan is that we ride down to the Alps, stopping overnight at Troyes on the way down, and the way back. We will leave on a Saturday, arriving at our destination on the Sunday, giving us five full days of riding before we start to head back on the following Saturday, arriving back in the UK at some stage on Sunday.

We will stay in the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice as our base, where there are options for a few hotels and B&Bs, so that we have some flexibility on accommodation. We can meet each evening for a meal together, and meet for coffee in the morning before we head off on the day's riding.

The plan is that we have a ride out every day from our base. These will be led by myself and Maurice, and anyone else that wants to. We will ride some beautiful roads around the mountains within France, Switzerland, and possibly Italy. Both myself and Maurice have ridden a lot in Europe, (I completed a 2800 mile trip in June 2017 through Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Belgium, and another big trip in the French Alps in September 2017), so we are both very used to riding in different countries in Europe.

Each day there will be a full days led ride, leaving at 10ish and getting back around 4-5ish. We can do some sightseeing, have plenty of time for coffees and leg stretches, taking in all the beautiful mountains and scenery. It won't be obligatory for everyone to ride every day, so if during the trip you want to have some time to yourself, head off on your own on the bike, or have a day off the bike, then that's all fine.

If you want to come on the trip can you RSVP. If you have any questions then use the discussion board on the event page, or send me a personal message.

The ride pace will be standard but with a progressive lead. It's not going to be learner or 125 friendly, and I would recommend that you have a bike at least 250cc or above, as we will be doing a bit of motorway riding on the way down and back. If you fancy the trip, and you're not really sure what the ride pace means or whether it's going to be the right kind of pace for you, send me a message and I'll ping you my mobile number so we can have a chat.

Any questions, ping over a personal message or use the event discission page.

NB. As we will have flexible accommodation options it's likely you can RSVP to this event at a much later stage if that suits you.
