Leg two of South Downs Way Whitewool to Harting

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • Many have said they want to walk the entire South Downs Way! Here we move to the second leg bringing you some joy for you during the winter months. Join us for some of it or all of it - dogs welcome!

    More details to follow

    List of legs

Leg two - Whitewool to Harting 11th Dec

Leg 4 - Cocking to Amberley 28th Dec (walk off Xmas dinner)

Leg 5 - Amberley to Washington 8th Jan

Leg 6 - Washington to Pycombe 5th Mar

Leg 7 - Pycombe to Alfriston 19th Mar

Leg 8 - Alfriston to Beachy Head 2nd April

This will take until about 3pm

We will need to leave 2 cars at the end (one can be mine) to get everyone back to the start. This walk starts at Meon Springs at Whitewool Farm, and goes up a steep hill to The Sustainability Centre. It then goes across the top of the downs with amazing views before dropping down Butser Hill into QE Park for a 'quick' lunch. We then go out through the woodlands to the back of Buriton and along the tracks rising up again onto Harting Down. Lovely walk. Dogs welcome (they are not allowed in the cafe but there is space for us to sit undercover outside) or on benches. Please wear sensible clothes and shoes as the weather on the South Downs can change (even if you just put a coat in your bag incase!). The ground is soft in places and uneven so boots are advised.

Please also put a bit of paper in your pocket which has your name, next of kin, medication, allergies and any other information. If an ambulance is needed, the hospital have the details they need. We do not need to see this information.
