Our annual 2018 Hack the Flag & Chili Cookoff will be in October this year again at FIU. As October is both Cybersecurity Awareness Month AND Halloween, this will work into this year's event and theme.
We will kick things off with a keynote address by Gal Shpantzer and there will be a lockpick village. And the chili cookoff!
Gal has 18 years of information security consulting experience, with clients including cloud native startups, Ivy League universities, NGOs and Fortune 50 corporations. Gal contributed to two global standards in security and privacy in the energy sector and is a SANS Newsbites co-editor. He specializes in preventing and mitigating impacts of ransomware and nukeware.
Registration is on Eventbrite as usual, so we have closed RSVP for this "event" on Meetup. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-sfissa-hack-the-flag-and-chili-cookoff-tickets-44928805266
We also are looking for volunteers to help with setup on Friday night before the event, and during the day on Saturday (help with checkin, oversee chili, help with lockpick village, help with the games).
