Paragliding is simply the best sport for nature/outdoor lovers because it offers the most incredibly breathtaking views of our planet and of the clouds above, besides great encounters with soaring birds in flight, all that with relatively low physical demands (being able to pull down on a couple of toggles, and carrying a 30-50lb backpack — depending on your size — for short distances), making it an awesome activity for pilots of both sexes of all ages who are in good health.
Our objective is to teach you how to fly safely and to be part of a supporting community of fellow students and pilots, so you can enjoy blissful flights for a lifetime with the support of a caring and sharing community. Training is accomplished through Cloudbase Therapy Paragliding Academy, the world's first Nonprofit Paragliding School designed to achieve the objective above in the most cost-effective manner (you'll save a ton on training costs and gear). You'll learn everything from how the wings are made to how to gain altitude riding thermals, reaching heights of over 6,500 ft and covering distances of up to 100 mi (105 mi is the current FL record) during 3h+ flights with nothing but fabric, lines, thermals, wind, and knowledge! You'll find the entire course syllabus here: http://cloudbasetherapy.org/p-1-p-2-course/
We teach Veterans, first responders, cancer patients/survivors, individuals treating depression, and Native Americans for FREE. Everyone else can make super low payments of $100/month for 18 months (you'll likely be doing your first solo within a couple of months if you can practice once a week for 3-4h, but sooner if you're available more often). Check out our website (and specially the VIDEOS section) at cloudbasetherapy.org, give us a call at 954-99U-FLY2, and/or simply come to one of our meetings/kiting sessions to learn more about how paragliding will be the best thing that has ever happened in your life. We're super passionate about it, and I'm sure you will be too once you see it for yourself, and you'll wonder how you could have lived for so long without it!
