Native American Medicine Shields

Native American Medicine Shields: this class includes a 62-page manual and materials for your shield; class led by Grandfather Rick McBride. As materials need to be prepared in advance, you must complete your registration by pre-paying.

"As always, Grandfather Rick took us on and through our issues; mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. A superb workshop!" DS, Coral Springs

The Medicine Shield is a tool that can help you understand your life patterns, especially those that work against you. Once you understand the underlying cause of any given negative behavior, and decide what you do want in your life, you then establish a working relationship with one or more Animal Medicine Helper. This information is built into a physical shield, which you will learn how to use to achieve your goals. A Medicine Shield is a tool that will help you develop singleness of purpose, the necessary consciousness to redirect old patterns by consistently focusing on what you do want, rather than trying to directly negate self-defeating habits.
"Medicine Shields again hit the nail on the head for me! I look forward to finishing the shield that was started. The workshop was extremely informative, fun and in my opinion an extremely important and useful tool for everyday use." LGK, West Palm Beach
Your Shield will become an object of beauty, something you'll want to look at and to work with: It won't be a "chore" to spend time with your Shield and the Medicine Helper(s) that you will have created a relationship with. A Medicine Shield can be adapted to many uses. Once you learn how it works, you can make a Shield for virtually any good purpose.

About Grandfather Rick: Rick McBride is a mixedblood Tsalagi (Cherokee) who has walked the Red Road for over 35 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-tay Lou-tuh) by the spirits through his sundance chief, which means Red Heart. He is a 17 year sundancer and has been traditionally trained and authorized to lead ceremonies, such as initi (purification lodge), prayer with the Canunpah (Pipe), drum healing and so forth. He has been publicly teaching these ways for 14 years now. For further information, visit his website: (
