♥ Perhaps you have always been a drummer.

♥ Perhaps you have never drummed, but the drums are calling you!

♥ Perhaps your drum is calling to be played in a circle, to be used for healing, for celebrations, to add to your practice or for personal journeying. Perhaps you are unsure why the drum is calling to you but you know that you hear it!
Why birth your own drum?

♥ Birthing a drum is so much more than just a days workshop.

♥ Drum birthing is creation in sacred space, it is honouring and working with the spirit of the animal and the tree.

♥ Even before you start the process of creation you and your drum are coming together, from heart and soul, to do the work.

♥ Drum birthing is the beginning of a new relationship between you and your new sacred tool.

***On the day***

You arrive and we will open sacred space, honouring our tools and the hoops and hides we will work with. We will set the intention to birth our drums.

Then we begin the process of creation. You will be guided every step of the way from cutting the drum head from the hide and the lacing and punching the holes, to bringing the pieces together and finally, after a labour of love, will birth your very own drum.

We will then craft a beater so that when it is time, your drum can sing!

To finish we journey to meet the spirit of your drum and learn why it is here.

If this date does not suit you, please note that workshops are also set for dates throughout August, September, October and November.

These workshops are held at my home in West Norwood or, if you book as a group - we can craft at your venue. All we need is a table to work around.

There are only 4 places available per date to ensure that you get the support you need.

Drums can be made from Red Stag or Reindeer and hopefully from goat that I have made into rawhide.

Fee: £180
What to bring:
-A foraged stick for your beater (give thanks to the earth when you find yours)
-A towel to wrap the hide and the drum in (a normal bath towel)

Full payment is required 2 weeks at least in advance to ensure I can purchase your materials. Payment is by bank transfer. Please contact me to book your space and pay.

So, if the drum is calling to you and you wish to make a drum in sacred space, in a small group book your space now.

I also have drums to sell and make drums to order, prices vary from £100-£300. This is dependant on size, hide, hoop and personalisation.

Our open women's drum circle takes place on the third Thursday of the month in Balham, you are welcome to join us. The date will be different in August due to holiday. I aim to start a mixed drum circle soon.
