  • Can we trust in science?

    The Vestry Hall

    £3.00

Our main monthly event at the Vestry Hall on 1 Oct is a discussion. Most humanists would say that science provides the best way to understand objective facts about the world. But the results of some quite famous experiments have turned out not to be quite what they seemed. In other cases, repeating the same experiment has produced different results. So can we trust in science? Do come along, whether you'd just like to hear the arguments, or to contribute. We'll start with a video of a talk given to the Royal Society of Arts by Michael Blastland, writer, broadcaster and co-author of 'The Tiger that Isn't' – a guide to numbers in the news. Gather from 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.
