Marcia I will join you and Frank. I need to return earlier to go to work

    July 23, 2013

  • MARCIA

I plan on taking the San Andreas loop back to the parking lot as I have to meet family in the early afternoon...

    July 22, 2013

    • Frank

And I WILL join you Marcia, (Elevation 2800 feet) so I can live to see another day! SLIGHTLY shorter? I'll take any reduction available given THAT elevation in only 9 miles.

Are you patient with new people? I have pretty much hiked alone so I am not used to keeping up with people, so I have always gone at my own pace. At 5'2" I usually have to double my strides to keep up! LOL

Many of us are pretty short. Some short people are faster than some tall people.

You'll be fine Jeanne. We don't leave anybody behind.

  • Davina

    Hi Jeanne
I'm not one of the organizers of the group but have hiked with them for about 18 months. Had never done an organized hike before and was somewhat nervous - but really enjoy it. We come in all shapes and sizes and a wide age range. Some speed ahead, others go slower (which is actually nice as it means we're not all bunched up walking in each other's dust). Those ahead always stop at the trailheads which makes sure that nobody gets lost and also that we all stay together. And there's always at least one good long sit down about halfway for snacks :)

I couldn't have put it better myself. Thanks Davina for articulating.
