Broward Drum Circle - Fern Forest Nature Center- Rain or Shine 2:30 PM - 4:40 PM Every Saturday afternoon Fern Forest Nature Center (in the picnic area) 201 South Lyons Road Coconut Creek, Florida[masked] (West side of Lyons Road just South of Atlantic Blvd.) The park closes at 5 PM. We will be druming about two hours in the pavilion on the right side just before the first parking lot. Park your car and walk to the pavilion. Listen for the drums. Bring your Drums, or any Percussion/Musical instrument (bucket, can, wooden spoons whatever you have). Fern Forest is a small park and parking is limited so car pooling would be a good thing to do. We must be out of there before the park closes. Native American Hand Drumming Circle 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm Grandfather Rick McBride Donation Please arrive promptly and please note this is an INDOOR drum circle. Traditional preparation, songs in the Lakota language, and drums to loan. There is no charge for Ceremony, but donations are accepted to support the continuation of the circle. It is traditional for women to wear skirts or dresses to Native American Ceremony. Please arrive promptly; it is important for everyone to be present at the start of the Ceremony. Rick McBride is mixedblood Ani'yunwi'ya (Cherokee) who has walked the Red Road in ceremony for over 35 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-tay Lou-tuh) by the spirits through his sundance chief, which means Red Heart. He completed his 16th sundance last year on the Cheyenne River Res. in South Dakota and is traditionally trained to lead ceremonies, such as inipi (purification lodge), prayer with the Canunpah (Pipe), drum healing and so forth. Calling all Drummers, Dancers, Flow Artists, Hoopers, Spinners, Acro-Yogis, and Shiny Happy People: Please join us in beautiful Downtown Delray Beach at historic Old School Square Park for an evening of Drumming, Dancing, and good fun. *** ALL are welcome. Whether you've never played drums before or have been playing for years. *** If it is raining at the location at the time of the circle we will play under the cover of the south side of the concession next to the museum This drum circle meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7-10p. -The Delray Beach drum circle is a friendly, intimate, groove-oriented gathering. Come by and experience for yourself the magic of this special night and location.
