What we're about

Come play Pickleball on 6 beautiful brand new Pickleball courts outdoors or on up to 8 indoor courts at Moorestown Tennis Club in cold weather for $10 a session. Read the description on the Meetup you rsvp to attend.

This particular meetup is open to all levels. With several levels possibly present foursomes will be arranged by mutual agreement. Winners stay and split, losers sit, for the first game. After that all play 2 consecutive games. We will do 3 hours blocks for meetups. You do not have to be present at the exact start time. Please use the comment section to let others know important information. Check the Meetup and weather before you come. If it is raining or very wet please use your judgement. Wet courts get slippery. I may not always be available to cancel the Meetup. Others usually comment.

We list 3 or more locations. Beginners should start off at the Pennsauken location where there is an instructor. There are also weekly classes available through Cherry Hill Recreation. Those who know how to play are invited to sign up for 6 courts at DeCou in Cherry Hill or on weekends at 6 courts in Hainesport. These are all public courts and we may not be the only ones using the courts, but we’ve found using the Meetup app is the best way to avoid overcrowding. You can signup 1 week in advance.

Respect the RSVP and the players. If you signed up, you are expected. If you can't come please be sure to change your RSVP. It only takes a second and will allow a wait listed person to play. If you want to skip a game just pass and wait. Foursomes are by mutual agreement. Advanced players can start with court #6 and the least advanced please start on court #1. Games are best and the most fun when all four are of similar skill.

The meetup is on public courts and always free to attend. Pickleball is played on a court like tennis but much smaller with a perforated ball and a paddle similar to ping pong. Games are usually played with a partner although singles can be played as well. The serve is underhand, a bounce on each side is required before you can volley. There is a 7' no volley zone in front of the net and games are played to 11 points win by two. Pickleball is game for everyone. Games can be competitive or social. Our groups will be divided that way and also by skill levels. A water bottle and folding chair are recommended for all locations. Paddles and balls can be provided to use. The meetup is free. Paddles can be provided to use and are also for sale at a discount to our meetup members. Both Paddletek and Selkirk brand paddles are available.

For more information on Pickleball visit usapa.org where you can find the rules, and more under the training and court info tab. There are also many good videos on YouTube. Pickleball doubles strategy 101 is an excellent video to teach the game.

Join us to have FUN. You will get exercise, laugh, make new friends, and come back for more and more.

WARNING: Pickleball is addictive

SunRise Advanced Pickleball

DeCou Pickleball Courts

Play at Sunrise, you'll have the rest of the day for work, sleep, whatever you want. This is an Advanced group of players, preferably 3.75 and higher. This is not meant to be "open" Pickleball, there are plenty of other times and venues for open play. We will have 3 challenge courts. Court 1 = 4.0+, win max of 4 straight games, then off. Court 2 = 3.75 or higher. Win max of 4 straight. Court 6 = <3.75, win 4 straight, then off. The remaining courts will be standard play winners split, 2 games then off. We will have at least 3 tournaments, and would love to challenge other venues during the year. To qualify to play for the DeCou Cup, you must play a minimum of 12 mornings to be considered to be selected by a team. Just because you play 12 morning, does not put you on a team. Only 26 players will participate. This meet-up gets crowded in the summer, we will max out at 30 players. Not necessarily first 30 to sign up, I will move higher rated players in over lower rated players. Its not personal, but this is Advanced SunRise Pickleball (for better players). Balls will be provided during the year, mostly Franklins, but possibly some Dura's as well. I will be collecting $25, $10 for meet-up postings for the year and $15 for balls. Venmo is preferred - @larry-emerson-31 We like good sports, competitive players, who get along well with others. I also insist we keep the courts and surrounding area clean. If you see a mess, pick it up and throw it away. If we all do a little, the area will remain clean and looking good. Please respect the times, there is a meetup immediately following ours. If you plan on continuing to play, sign up for the next meet-up. This game is getting more and more popular, and players are getting better every month. Please respect that this particular event is for the areas better players. I don't not like anyone, but we all like to play against equal or better competition. The best 30 players will stay on the "going" list for the day. Lets have fun, play well, and keep this meetup a great place to play great!

Intermediate Pickleball at DeCou Park

DeCou Pickleball Courts

Attn: Township class is Sunday morning and uses 3 courts.
We have 6 brand new courts!! Bring sunscreen, water, paddle and balls. NO chairs on the courts. There are benches but you can bring your chair but must keep it off the court. We will start off with open meetups but try to keep play within levels. With 6 courts we will ask the most advanced to play on the first 2 courts moving to least experienced on the last court. Let’s see how that goes. First game winners stay after that everyone plays 2 games in a row. There is no instruction. Classes are available through Cherry Hill Township or at the Pennsauken location.

Sunday Open Pickleball at Hainesport

Hainesport Municipal Court

Open to all levels. Court distribution will vary depending on skill levels of those in attendance. Paddle lineups on respective fences. First game: winners stay and split, losers sit. After first game, play 2 consecutive games.

ALL PLAYERS PLAY AT THEIR OWN RISK. Please follow all CDC COVID-19 guidelines.

River Road Pickleball Complex

River Road Pickleball Complex

These are outdoor courts that are kept locked and can be opened by keyholders who are using the courts. Cookie Sey is the key holder.
During the initial start-up months, we are asking that players who rsvp, please cooperate with the keyholders to courts. Keyholders are responsible to lock up courts when they leave. Any difficulties incurred while trying to end a two-hour meetup may result in dropping that meetup time. We are here to have fun and play pickleball. During the pandemic crisis, all players are advised to play at their own risk. It is also advised that everyone should have and wear a mask in order to adhere to social distancing recommendations.
Please bring a beverage, chair, paddle, and balls.
