Come play Pickleball on 3 dedicated brand new Pickleball courts.
This particular meetup is open to all levels. With several levels possibly present foursomes will be arranged by mutual agreement. Winners stay and split, losers sit, maximum of 2 consecutive games. We can add a meetup for any day or time. I will poll members or you can suggest a meetup time, day, or specific group. We will do 3 hours blocks for meetups. The limit will be 18 at each session. We can do round robins, drill days, beginners only, over 4.0 only, anything that's popular. Although they are public courts if you see a group listed to use the courts please let them have the time.
There is a water fountain on site, picnic tables, and a playground. There is a Mr. Bob (port a potty) on the premises if you need it. Open areas are available if you want to bring another game to play, and a walking/bike trail is across the street. Foul language will not be allowed due to the children and close proximity to neighbors. We don't want complaints. Parking is available both in the driveway and on street.
Respect the RSVP and the players. If you signed up, you are expected. If you can't come please be sure to change your RSVP. It only takes a second and will allow a wait listed person to play.
The meetup is free to attend but a meetup fund bucket will be out. If you can occasionally drop in a buck or two to cover the cost of meetup and replacing balls it is appreciated. All excess will go to growing Pickleball in other areas of South Jersey.
Pickleball is played on a court like tennis but much smaller with a perforated ball and a paddle similar to ping pong. Games are usually played with a partner although singles can be played as well. The serve is underhand, a bounce on each side is required before you can volley. There is a 7' no volley zone in front of the net and games are played to 11 points win by two. Pickleball is game for everyone. Games can be competitive or social. Our groups will be divided that way and also by skill levels. A water bottle and folding chair are recommended for all locations. Paddles and balls can be provided to use. If you see a donation bucket please drop something in to cover the meetup cost and balls. The meetup is free. Paddles can be provided to use and are also for sale at a discount to our meetup members. Both Paddletek and Selkirk brand paddles are available.
For more information on Pickleball visit usapa.org where you can find the rules, and more under the training and court info tab. There are also many good videos on YouTube. Pickleball doubles strategy 101 is an excellent video to teach the game.
