Ride to Sleepy Hollow

  • Sep 6, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

There are more than a few twisties in this 170 mile ride but you ride them at your own comfortable pace. We need to be mindful of small towns and reduced speed limits. We'll have lunch at Sleepy Hollow in Floral City, where $6 brings you steak, potato & corn. The ride continues after lunch down through Trilby, James, Jessamine and is officially over at I75 and Fowler Avenue.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes before and fuel-up. There will be a  safety break at Hess and Trilby Road.

Thank you Kelly! This was so awesome! I know you put in a lot of hard work recording and editing it... it is greatly appreciated. Arturo wants me to let everyone know he had a bee in his helmet.. that's why he ran off the road... really! LOL

Kelly thank you for all your work filming and editing this video. I have never seen a picture or video of me riding my bike before; so that was fun to see.

video is finally up.....pain staking I must say......it's under the discussion tab, south shore video's. Vimeo rather than YouTube, quality is better. Hope you guys like it. Mark, you made the thumbnail......

Kelly, now that I have had the time to watch the entire video start to finish, I must say, Fantastic job assembling these memories. The painstaking effort was worth it. Like it? Absolutely loved it! -Mark

I have a question for the can am folks. Do any of you have the 2014 with the 3 cylinder engine and if so how do you like it, etc etc etc.?

I have the 2014 RS-S model which is the first year for the v-twin engine. I used to own a 2009 RS model and its an incredible difference. with the RS-S model, I have the fox podium shocks and heavier suspension to take corners faster and its a much smoother ride. the pipe is moved back with heat shield which is much better. I love it.

Video is processing, a lot of footage to edit. Difficult to say the least as all was good. I got it down to about 18 minutes from over an hour. I hope you all enjoy and if any changes you want to see for future rides, I am all ears. It's a work in progress.

Great ride. Great route. Great turnout in spite of the threat of nasty rain. All was great except the bumper to bumper traffic o 275 on the way home to St Pete.

threats yes, rain no. 40% is always good riding in Florida.

      September 6, 2014

    • Mark B.

Actually, Brian and I hit a stretch of rain on I-275. Not too bad though. And it gave me the 3rd opportunity this week to clean my bike. :) -Mark

This ride was great! I didn't even know we had some hills and curves around here. I have been here since 86 and every time i go on one of these rides I feel like I am experiencing this state for the first time.

The location is correct. Do not click on "edit map" just click on Starbucks 8229 Parkedge. There is gas next door. From I75 take Fletcher exit and go west a few miles. On right side of road. Come early and grab some coffee.
