Welcome New South Bay Permaculture Members and Happy New Year!

Ok, so I'm a little late on the new year's thing, but I just wanted to welcome everyone that joined recently. Most of my work has been with Transition San Jose recently and at my own place replacing the lawn and installing a contoured california native rain-garden type thingy. Pics will be coming to porchsideecology.com soon!

Transition San Jose is wrapping up our planning for this coming year and it sounds like some exciting projects are in the works. At my own place, I'll be working on some intensive food systems and at least one greywater project and fixing my rammed earth wood fired oven. Other TSJ members mentioned building Thai Jar rainwater harvesting cistern(!), dirt bag earthworks, movie nights, monthly meals, so this year looks like a lot will be going on! Not to mention that Zach Lewis (CommUniversity) is working on food initiatives in downtown San Jose as well as designing a community garden, so hopefully he'll kick some Garden-To-Table and other activities our way as well.

Would love to meet fellow meetup members specifically to talk permaculture and see what everyone is interested in. I'm thinking some time in February would be good, spring will be around the corner! In the meantime, I'll be posting the TSJ projects as they start kicking into action.

Hope to meet more of you soon!

Cheers,

Chris

Do you have any members in the Stanford/Palo Alto area? I'd like to attend a meeting but it's a long trip down to San Jose.

Thanks,
Clayton

Clayton, you should hook up with Transition Palo Alto http://transitionpalo... - I believe William Much is heavily involved and is a permaculture teacher/designer. He could get you connected to others in the area. Also, you might check out the Green Tomatoes meetup which is a peninsula group with permaculture roots.

Do you have any members in the Stanford/Palo Alto area? I'd like to attend a meeting but it's a long trip down to San Jose.

Thanks,
Clayton
