Xcel’s Colorado Energy Plan

Alice Jackson, President, Xcel Energy – Colorado, will talk about Xcel’s Colorado Energy Plan (CEP). Xcel Energy is an investor owned utility that provides half of the electric power used in Colorado. Their CEP is a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining competitive rates. The plan contains a portfolio of existing and new wind, solar and storage projects while retiring coal-fired generation. In 2017, Xcel produced 28% of its power for Colorado from renewables. Their goal is to reduce carbon emissions 80% from 2005 levels by 2030. Their vision is to be 100% carbon free by 2050.
