9:15 am to 10:00 am - Drones for Inspection and Mapping: Current and Future Usage

David Day, Vice President - Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc. Philadelphia, PA

Drones for infrastructure inspection has exploded as an early use case for Small UAS technology. Whether the case may be for bridges, utility towers or pipelines. In the future, inspectors and infrastructure owners must leverage complete UAS offerings that go beyond inspection that include GIS, 3D and mapping products. This will be essential to incorporating UAS into the standard inspection process.

Real-world examples of inspection results and datasets will show the possibilities available to an asset inspection team that is new to geospatial.

David Day has been with Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc. for over 20 years, and is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist and a GISP. Mr. Day is actively evangelizing the use of UAS for GIS, Photogrammetry and 3D data acquisition by presenting at dozens of industry, legal and government events throughout the country.
