• Ride the Marley Ranch Area

    Green Valley

Long but easy ride starting at the gate near the west end of Calle Tres in Green Valley. The ride goes south on jeep roads and power line roads, through 'death valley', then a mile on Arivaca Road, and returning on jeep roads to the start. About 29 miles and 1500 feet of climbing with the last ten miles all downhill. A break/lunch spot at mile 15. This is predominantly Marley Ranch property, some owned and some leased by Marley from the state. Interesting features along the ride. To find the start, go west on Calle Tres to the end of the road. Turn left, go a couple hundred yards, and go through the gate on your right and park there. Meet at the start at 9 AM. Ride should take around four hours. Map and gpx files below. Bring lots of water and snacks. Start point coordinates lat=[masked] lon=[masked] www.s[masked].onlinehome.us/samba/marley.ride.jpg http://s229637236.onlinehome.us/samba/marley.ride.gpx

  • Catalina to Golder

    In-N-Out Burger

This is not a beginner ride. We will ride up the hill from Catalina State Park to Golder Ranch. This is a 4 mile rocky climb up to Golder. From there we will do a lap (or 2, or 3) of the chutes before heading off to Middle Gate. Middle Gate is another technical section with a tough climb. Descend Middle Gate and head back to Catalina via the same chunky climb we first ascended. Total ride distance will be about 20 miles. Bring $3 for the entrance fee to Catalina State Park.

  • GABA Spring Bike Swap

    5th Ave and 7th Str.

The largest bicycle swap in the southwest, GABA's Bike Swap in Tucson, attracts over 5,000 attendees and more than 30 vendors bi-annually. And lucky for you, SAMBA has a space set up near the center of 5th Ave and 7th St every year. Have some things you want to sell, want to find out more about SAMBA, want to bring us donuts and coffee, just want to come by and say hi? We welcome it all. SAMBA dues paying members will get free space at the SAMBA booth and table to sell their old ware (of course donations are always welcome). Non-dues-paying members are welcome to bring items to sell for a minimum donation of $5. If you are interested in selling any of your items you are responsible for pricing and selling them on your own. The swap officially starts at 7, but as we all know, the unofficial start time is much earlier. If you want to be there early to help set up the SAMBA booth please indicate this in the comments section below. And while the swap officially goes until 1, we are usually packed up and out of there by noon. So don't be late and miss us!
