Ride The Path thru Arabia Mtn/Panola St. Park

10:30 AM start time--Come and ride The Path thru the nature preserve, over the covered bridge to Lake Alexander and onto the newest spur along the South Rockdale River Trail to the Conyers Monastery. Shady trail with lots of wildlife and LOTS of hills. Bring water and snacks there are no store stops on the trail (there is a "cafe" at the Monastery, for those who choose to go that far). End to end is just shy of 40 miles at a 11-13 mph avg.

This ride will be cancelled if its raining or conditions are particularly wet. Please check this board regularly or contact me if you are uncertain. It is a good idea to carry the following on this ride: 1) Phone; 2) water; 3) a snack bar; 4) a spare tube; 5) something to inflate the tube with. (Many of us have spare tubes & CO2 cartridges, so if you don't, you are still covered.)

WEAR A HELMET. There are no exceptions from this requirement.

Water & bathrooms are available at the 11, 15 & 19 mile points.

My phone number is:[masked]--put it into your cell phone. It might be handy if you have trouble finding the starting point or if you have difficulty on the ride and we are spread out. Or the weather creates doubt about the viability of the ride.

We did 32 miles, as Rod says it is a'lil hilly. Warm day consumer 150 oz. of water, and still cramped a little at the end. Thanks everyone for a great day on the path. Will definitely do this ride again.

I saw someone with a bloody leg and turned my car around and went back to offer help but did not see this person anymore by the time I got back there. I wonder if it was you!!!! Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry about your accident. As for bringing a Canadian, well, if we let an Argentine ride I guess a Canadian might be ok--:)

just started back cycling after knee surgery so will be taking it easy. My wife might come along. I am familiar with the path and will be pulling my BOB trailer so will have tools if needed for the group. looking forward to meeting with all of you
