Ride The Path thru Arabia Mtn/Panola St. Park

  • Stonecrest Library

3123 Klondike Road, Lithonia, GA (map)

    33.693665 -84.111076

  • We will ride the Path through the nature preserve, over the covered bridge to Lake Alexander and onto the spur along the South Rockdale River Trail to the Conyers Monastery. Shady trail with lots of wildlife and LOTS of hills. Bring water and snacks, there are no store stops (in the first 15 miles) on the trail (there is a "cafe" at the Monastery & a store 16-17 miles out, for those who choose to go that far). End to end is just shy of 40 miles at a 11-13 mph avg.

EARLY START OPTION-9:45: Begin at Browns Mill parking lot, 6262 Browns Mill Road. Ride to the Library, use the very nice facilities & start for the Monastery at 10:10. Approx. 6 miles to Library. NOTE--no comfort amenities at Browns Mill location.

THIS IS A VERY HILLY COURSE.

This ride will be cancelled if its raining or conditions are particularly wet. The ride may also be cancelled if the temperatures are predicted to remain below 45. Please check this board regularly or contact me if you are uncertain. It is a good idea to carry the following on this ride: 1) Phone; 2) water; 3) a snack bar; 4) a spare tube; 5) something to inflate the tube with.

WEAR A HELMET. There are no exceptions from this requirement.

My phone number is:[masked]--put it into your cell phone. It might be handy if you have trouble finding the starting point or if you have difficulty on the ride and we are spread out. Or the weather creates doubt about the viability of the ride.
