“The purpose of alchemy was not to make something out of nothing but rather to fertilize and nurture the seed which was already present.” Manly P. Hall

Register at the Portland Permaculture Meet-up site:

When practicing permaculture we have many tools to fertilize and nurture the seeds around us. We may work with bioremediation, resilience, and good stewardship to help nurture and protect the land, each other, and ourselves. But the scope of some of the things that are taking place in the world around us, to our food, and in our neighborhoods, can be very overwhelming. It can be hard to find hope. It can be hard to know what to "do."

Using Sandra Ingerman's book Medicine For The Earth: How to Transform Personal and Environmental Toxins as a tool, we will explore and practice techniques for transmuting the toxins within our bodies and in our world. Over the course of 6 evenings will work through the sections of the book, providing opportunities to inspire and encourage each other along the way. Community is an important part of this work. The benefit provided by a circle of peers helps us to stay on track and show up to do the deep introspection required (especially since it is often hard to prioritize this work in the midst of our busy lives). We each hold a piece of the puzzle and by coming together; we create a rich, multifaceted understanding of the work.

Some of the themes that we will be exploring include:

●How our emotions affect our environment as well as tools for transforming the energy of negative emotions.

●Remembering the nature of our soul’s original purpose, before we were told by other people and society who we were.

●Cultivating a harmonious connection with nature and natural cycles and rhythms.

●Looking at how we nourish others, how we accept nourishment, and how our ability to accept extends to how we are able to receive help from spirit.

●Taking responsibility for our relationships with spirit, appreciating that how we do this will be different for each of us.

●And how all this, and much more, contributes to our ability to transmute toxins in our bodies and in the world around us.

We will start in with the Introduction and Part 1 of the book at our first evening, so please read this section in advance and work with the exercises that speak to you. If you get completely inspired and read the whole thing right away, go for it! It will give you a good idea of how the exercises work together, what we're moving toward, and if this modality feels like a good fit for you. Because of the deep personal work required we ask that participants be willing to commit to all 6 evenings, while making space for you to leave if the work isn’t resonating for you.
