Our group meets regularly for playgroups and activities each month. These activities include play dates at various parks, indoor playgrounds, library story times, and other kid friendly activities. Each month we will create a calendar of activities geared towards younger kids (ages 0-5). Each event will have the specific details you need to know to attend that event. We ask that everyone review the event and rsvp to let us know if you are coming or not. If you change your mind on an event, please update your rsvp. If you have any questions, concerns, comments or suggestions for events please let the organization team know.
Membership fees: There is no annual membership fee. Joining is free.
Group Activity fees: For some activities there may be a small cost associated. If there is an admission charged by a facility where we are having a meetup or play date, each person is required to pay their share for these events directly. When scheduling a meetup we will let you know in advance if there will be a fee and what the cost will be.
Joining: In order to be approved to join Southside Mamas, we ask that you have a photograph of you in your profile and fill an introduction bio of the profile. You will not be approved until these are done.
Attendance Policy: In an effort to really get to know all our members and to make sure all of our members are engaged and active within the group, we have decided to require that members at least 3 "official" meet ups every 6 months in order to remain a member of the group. Since "Announcement Only" meet ups don't require you to RSVP or that an organizer is there to meet you, attending these meet ups do not count towards the required 3.
You will receive notification if you have not met this requirement. If we do not receive communication from you within a week then you will be removed from the group. This attendance requirement is effective as of January 17th, 2016. Therefore if you joined before today, before this requirement existed, you have 6 months from today to attend 3 or more meet ups. For members joining after today they will have 6 months from the date they joined to attend 3 meet ups.
Child Safety: At all times each parent is responsible for their own child while in group meetups. We will do our best to keep our group a safe area for all.
Photographs: We would like to add photos to our meetup photo albums. If a photo is posted and you would like it removed, please let the organization team know.
General Etiquette: Be respectful to others. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
Illness: Following the same guidelines used in many daycares, we ask that you do not attend an event if your child has had a fever of 100+ within 48 hours of the event. If your child has cold symptoms (runny nose, light cough) and you are not sure whether it's okay to attend a play date, please contact the event host directly for her opinion. If you are hosting, and your child has a cold, please post an advisory on the meetup event page.
Announcement Only Events: These events are to inform you of an event that is going on but the organizers may or may not be attending.
