We are delighted to announce our second annual wine and cheese gathering at Elizabeth's cozy home. We will create an assortment of additional plant based appetizers for your grazing pleasure. For those not partaking in wine we will offer a nice selection of n/a beverages. The evening will begin with meet and mingle 6:30-7:00. Then a self serve section of fruit wine and gourmet cheeses with crackers. Once the cheeses introduced feel free to settle in the cozy space and semi-enclosed patio, relax int he candle lit living room. The hostesses will be passing around trays of home made Hors D'oeuvres to please your palette. Don't miss on this once a year opportunity to try the ultimate Plant base wince and cheese experience. Join Coach Elizabeth and Chef Anna Maria for our 3rd Lunch & Learn Series . The Theme is " French Brunch." April 29th at 12pm- 3pm At Elizabeth cozy home in Serra Mesa. The theme is inspired by the French cuisine and some of their famous breakfast (brunch) dishes, but, with great yummy flavor by making it Plant base! You bet yeah!! We will begin with welcoming you by making an energy juice to give you the quick pick me up! This will be hand on demo or if you prefer to sit relax and let us show you how. 1) Organic and fresh Granny smith apples, cucumber, ginger, lemon and carrots 2) A savory Crepe with Spinach, Artichoke and Cheese This is a french delicacy are favorable for Brunches. 3) Quiche is another French word that we associate with eggs, but this one NO eggs needed. So yummy you wouldn't believe it is not the original quiche. Crusted quinoa, filled with the king of veggies, asparagus, red and yellow peeper, fennel, nutritional yeast, basil, blend of tofu turmeric, garlic, onion baked to perfection. Oui, Mercy!! She has been a Nutrition chef at the Gerson Institute for the past 6 years cooking and juicing a plant base and vegetarian organic menu for 20 staff and guests. Anna Maria also teaches cooking and juicing classes on a weekly basis. Join us in learning the techniques to combat the cold and flu season by boosting your immune system to work for you. Rest your overworked digestive system and give your skin the glowing look of health from inside out. Details: For Starters we will offer you a tall glass of powerful chilled matcha tea with almond milk and Stevia. We are delighted to announce an evening of wine and vegan cheese sampling chez Elizabeth. We will also create a gourmet assorment of additional plant-based appetizers for your grazing pleasure. For those not partaking in wine we will offer a nice selection of n/a beverages. The evening will begin with a mix & mingle from 6:30 - 7:00. Then we will begin presenting a nice variety of cheeses accompanied by thoughtfully selected breads and crackers. Once the cheeses are introduced feel free to settle into the comfy seating on the semi-enclosed patio, relax in the candle lit living room or stay reassuringly close to the kitchen table laden with additional tasty treats. If you haven't had a chance to come to one of our Lunch & Learn classes this will be a nice opportunity to meet some of your fellow members and food lovers in a less structured setting. (and with a lot of great food!) We are able to accomodate up to 15 guests and are weloming anyone to extend an invitation to their significant other. It's that time of year to fall in love with soups all over again. If you are a newcomer click on the About us.... section to the left (if you are on a laptop) and return guests, well you know how much fun we've been having these last 6 months! The table will again be set for eight, so brings your appetites and get ready to plunge into the following four steaming bowls of nutritious vegan tastiness. Coconut Yellow Curry Soup ~ with mushrooms, barley and cauliflower. Asian Noodle Bowl ~ Slurp up the noodles with your chopsticks and lift your bowl to your lips to drink in every last drop of the rich veggie broth. Pomegranite soup ~ Yellow split Peas, lentil and pomegranate delight. Fall root vegetables ~ Roasted Celery root, Potatoes, Purple carrots, squash, onion, garlic and Kohlrabi blended to a smooth hearty soup. Your hosts Elizabeth and Rochelle will be displaying a 'Mis en Place' for each soup. That's a tray featuring all of the ingredients and discussing the role each play in building a well balanced pot. You may have heard that soup gets better overnight so that is just how we plan to serve it to you. Welcome to the wonderful world of vegan appetizers. Flex those fingers and get ready to indulge in Elizabeth & Rochelle's soon-to-be-famous internationally inspired finger foods. Menu as Follows: A vegan take on the classic English tea-sandwich. Crust cut off and filled with a nut based creamy spread, cucumbers and dill. Veggie lettuce wraps two ways. The 1st is a Thai style crunchy veggie medley in a peanut sauce served in crisp iceberg lettuce. The 2nd is an American style mock chicken salad served in romaine lettuce boats. As a nod to our southern neighbor, roasted cauliflower tacos drizzled with a creamy miso-tahini sauce in a soft tortilla. Whole roasted artichoke meant to be savored slowly and socially. Infused with fresh garlic and avocado oil. Bon Appetit. We will be serving flavored sparkling mineral water but if you are so inclined to sip a glass wine we welcome you to bring a bottle to share.
