Join us for an afternoon of quilting, and support a great cause! On May 12, we'll be making small quilts to donate to the "Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts" program of the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (http://www.alzquilts.org/) (AAQI).
From the AAQI:
"Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts are small quilts (maximum 9" x 12") donated by AAQI supporters. Quilts are auctioned during the first 10 days of every month, sold online, or sold at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Quilts need not be about Alzheimer's. Any theme, style, color, technique, and ability are welcome. Fight Alzheimer's by donating or purchasing a quilt."
We invite you to bring your machine, fabric scraps, leftover quilt blocks and other supplies to create a small quilt to donate to the AAQI. We will provide batting for everyone, and we will register and mail all of the completed quilts to the AAQI.
For inspiration, please visit the AAQI site to see the quilts that are currently for sale (http://www.alzquilts.org/quiltsforsale.html). You can also find lots of great tutorials online by searching for "mug rugs" or "mini quilts."
Please feel free to email with any questions, and we hope to see you here!
