    Please join us at Freeman's Creative to sew dog bandanas to benefit Hope Animal Rescue, a local non-profit that aims to improve the lives of stray and abandoned pets in North Carolina. Spoonflower is providing the custom cotton fabric for you to create brightly colored dog bandanas to donate to HAR. All ages and skill levels are welcome to attend; there is plenty of cutting and pinning to be done in addition to simple sewing. Bring your own machine, or use one of ours. This event is drop-in.   • RARE Bear Sew-In

    Please join us in the Greenhouse for our 3rd Annual Rare Bear (http://www.rarescience.org/rare-bear-program/) Sew-In for RARE Science (http://www.rarescience.org/), a non-profit organization that helps find cures for kids with rare disease. The RARE Bear Project is a community driven initiative and is supported by the ever-growing RARE Bear Army of volunteers that help make one-of-a-kind bears for special one-of-a-kind kids. We'll provide fabric + notions for folks to create fun bears to donate to RARE Science. Any fabric or embroidery thread donations you have for this cause are welcome, too! All ages and all skill levels are welcome to attend, so please do bring your children and your friends! There is plenty ironing, pinning and stuffing to be done in addition to simple sewing, so help in any way you like. This event is floating, so come when you can and stay as long as you like. Though the Greenhouse has 6 sewing machines to share, we strongly encourage those who do have a portable sewing machine to bring it with them! Please let us know if you'll need to borrow a machine. If you'd like to bust your stash and make some RARE bears to donate ahead of time, you can do so by joining the RARE Bear Army today to receive sewing instructions and necessary custom RARE Bear supplies (http://www.rarescience.org/rare-bear-army-contact/)! We'll provide these instructions and supplies at our sew-in, too! You're welcome to drop your RARE Bear at Spoonflower anytime before or during our event!   • Turban Gifts of Love Sew-in

    Please join us at Spoonflower to sew head scarves to benefit the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program, which offers counseling, support groups and a wig and turban program to help patients and families cope with the impact of cancer on their lives. We'll provide the knit fabric for you to create brightly colored headscarves to donate to DCPSP. Any fabric donations you have for this cause are welcome, too! All ages and all skill levels are welcome to attend, so please do bring your children and your friends! There is plenty of cutting and pinning to be done in addition to simple sewing, so help in any way you like. This event is floating, so come when you can and stay as long as you like. The Greenhouse will be equipped with several sewing machines to share if you do not have your own. Please let us know if you'll need to borrow a machine. If you have your own sewing machine, we encourage you to bring your own! If you'd like to bust your stash and make some turbans or headscarves to donate ahead of time, you can do so by following these simple instructions (http://www.sewing.org/html/turban.html)!
