Skerries Island's Sea Kayaking Trip.

Skerries has five islands in total off its coast. These are Shenick Island, St Patrick's, Colt Island, Rockabill and Lambay Island.

We will be doing trips around three Islands. We will start our trip from the Beach from the Martello towel and will kayak to the Snenick Island, it's has Mortello towel there, we will land there, take a quick walk and make some pictures around Martello towel. We will kayak then to the St Patrick Island if people fancy we can take break there and we can have some snack and then we will kayak around Cold Island and after that we are going Skerries harbour.

I attached a map for you so you have better idea of where you will be going.

It's will take around 20 minutes to kayak to each Islands. All will be around 2 hours.

History

Early writers tell how an island off Skerries was used as a landing place for an invasion, which happened in the second century. This island was either Shenick or Red Island, which would have been a tidal island at the time. When the invaders landed, they formed ranks and at low tide marched to the mainland, where they were promptly defeated at the ancient settlement of Knocknagin, north of Ballbriggan. The islands were previously known as the Islands of Cor possibly after the original inhabitants.

Direction

You can get train from Conolly station to Skerries. It's going often and it's take you only 30 minutes.
You need to come out on Skerries train station then walk on Dublin road, for about 10 minutes, it's will bring you to Skerries town Centre and walk straight to Skerries Harbour and you will see us.

There is two people professional will be going with us who has level of kayaking and who will give as all safety instruction and who is very familiar with the area we are going!
