How did you become a skeptic?

I heard E.O. Wilson on the radio discussing how the natural world almost forced him into skepticism of religion. I was restoring natural areas at the time and it became pretty much impossible to retain my former beliefs.

Did you formerly believe some paranormal or pseudoscience claims?

Pretty much gave the claims the benefit of doubt.

Do you read Skeptical Inquirer, Skeptic, or a similar magazine?

I occasionally read Skeptic Online.

I just want to meet people in my area who can discuss science intelligently.

What Jim N. is saying about this Meetup Group

This meetup group is a great place to talk about your views on science and critical thinking without the worry of being judged negatively by those present.
