Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 8, 2019, churches from around the world will host Night to Shine for thousands of honored guests and we want you to be a part of it! Check out https://www.timtebowfoundation.org/ministries/night-to-shine for more info and some videos of past events. SCBC is hosting Night to Shine for the south county region. Plans and preparations have been underway for quite some time. The big night is 2/8.

They are still looking for some volunteers, specifically to be 'buddies' with the guests for the night. The buddies job is to accompany the guest throughout the evening and assist in any way needed. There will be lots of activities going on and many of the guests will know each other, so you're not responsible for entertaining. The needs of the guests will vary. Most of the volunteer positions have been filled, but since the goal is to have a one on one buddy, this is the biggest need, by far, for the evening. This will be a wonderful experience, and a memorable night for both the guest and the buddy.

**Buddy training will be offered, date/time to be determined. Email will be sent to those who rsvp.

Volunteers who don't want to be buddies, but would like to participate could come and help provide an enthusiastic arrival for the guests. There will be people cheering as guests enter down the red carpet.

Important things to know-

*A background check is required to be a buddy, a link will be given to those interested in volunteering. Will need your full name and email address, can send to me via messages or provide as answer to question when rsvp. deadline to submit is 2/7

*The event runs from 6-9, ideally volunteers will arrive by 5:15, can be somewhat flexible. Volunteers can arrive as early as 4:45.

*For buddies, prefer volunteers to be 18 or older, minimum age 16.

*Formal attire not required. Dress clothes recommended.

*Volunteer parking is in the General American lot (follow same road as church entrance to the dead end, turn right and park.) Shuttle bus will bring you to the church. Volunteer registration is thru the lower level, south entrance.
