It's Game Jam time again! A Game Jam is an event where people form teams and make a game over a short period of time around a surprise theme.
Whether you've wanted to make a game before and weren't sure how to get started, or just want an excuse to make another game, this event is for you!
Unlike St. Louis' traditional 48 hour Game Jams, the Game Dev Duel will be a month long Game Jam beginning with a theme announced at the Science Center on June 30th and ending with presentations on August 1st.
There will be optional weekly check-ins as well, where jammers can hear a short talk relevant to where they are in the development process, demo their progress, and simply hang out in person with their team to plan and discuss progress.
Bring a team or find one at the event. There will be time for both.
This kickoff event will consist of a short team-forming exercise, a quick overview of how to work effectively with a remote team, the theme announcement, and free time to hang out with your team to begin planning your game. We recommend planning on going out to a diner, bar, or restaurant afterwards to continue planning with your team as well, but that's up to you.

We're excited to try something new. Lets make awesome, creative games together!
The St. Louis Game Developer Co-op is dedicated to a harassment-free event experience (http://stlgamedev.com/events/code-of-conduct/) for everyone. All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise specified.
