Valley Park, MO
I'd like to network some, see what everyone does. I hope to either become a designer or to start my own game developer here in STL, so I want to know what the community is like, speak with those who either have done the same or work in the industry.
I have so many ideas, but the question makes me wonder if it means aspects of an ideal game... so let's go with that. The ideal game, for me, has a story length of 6-15 hours long depending on genre, so long as the story is fleshed out, explained, and leaves enough clouded mystery to keep you coming back. The controls can be complex, but they need to be fluid and there shouldn't be any overly noticeable input lag. Bugs are normally fine as long as they are not game-breaking. Difficulty should be fair, but still difficult, slowly gaining as the game goes on, growing with your experience. Graphics should be eye catching, but by no means need to be "next-gen". The style and story of game dictates the graphics used.
I want to meet people in the industry. I've gained so much experience in the last few years. I know I have something to offer and I'm here to supply that.
I'm a 27 year old technology buff with a Masters in IT Management. I currently work in Quality Assurance and I do near constant research to improve my knowledge.
I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said, I can't wait til the next meeting.
