WHEN: Club rides take place on alternating Saturdays and Sundays MOST weekends throughout the riding season, and will leave from a convenient Longmont location.
ROUTE: 49 mile Loop to NCAR via S. Boulder Rd, returning via Marshall This route is rated Medium difficulty due to the climb up to NCAR. Route map can be viewed HERE.
WHAT: Club rides will have 2 groups. We ride as a close group, two abreast only when it is safe to do so. The Club rides are "NO DROP", we will re-group at the top of hills, and at any turns where necessary.
GROUP 1: Average Speed of about 15 to 18 mph (18-20 on the flats, slower on hills)
GROUP 2: Average Speed of about 13 to 16 mph (faster on the flats, slower on hills)
WHO: This is a road bike ride for people who have experience riding on the road with traffic. Please only sign up if you are confident you can complete the above described ride/route (distance, pace etc).
RIDE NOTES: Rides will roll out no more than 5 minutes after the advertised start time, please arrive early and be ready to roll on time.
- Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).
- Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride, especially with warmer weather ahead of us. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8oz per 20 mins of ride time).
