SPECIAL EVENT: We will ride our usual Club ride in the morning, and then follow that with a Club social and picnic. SVCG will supply a Sub Platter, Chips and cookies. We have reserved the West Patio at Left Hand for this event, where Beer and Soft drinks will be available for purchase (not covered by SVCG). This will be a fun, relaxed event, and give everyone a chance to chill out off the bike too. We would like to give priority to those who ride with us regularly and who will be riding the day of the event as well.

WHEN: Club rides take place on alternating Saturdays and Sundays MOST weekends throughout the riding season, and will leave from a convenient Longmont location.

ROUTE: For this special ride we will head south to Erie, then West to 63rd, a nice rolling 40 mile route, map HERE (http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2911141). After arriving back at Left Hand, those wishing to attend the "Picnic" can park their bikes and head for the their west patio.

WHAT: Club rides will have 2 or 3 groups. We ride as a close group, two abreast only when it is safe to do so. The Club rides are "NO DROP", we will re-group at the top of hills, and at any turns where necessary.

GROUP Abici: This group will be at a faster pace (17 to 19mph average).

GROUP Basso: This group will be at a medium/fast pace (15 to 17mph average).

GROUP Cinelli: This group will be at a medium pace (13 to 15mph average).

WHO: This is a road bike ride for people who have experience riding on the road with traffic. Please only sign up if you are confident you can complete the above described ride/route (distance, pace etc).

RIDE NOTES: Rides will roll out no more than 5 minutes after the advertised start time, please arrive early and be ready to roll on time.

- Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).

- Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride, especially with warmer weather ahead of us. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8oz per 20 mins of ride time).

DISCLAIMER: We try to ensure the safest cycling experience on all of our rides, but cycling does come with some risk. Our ride leaders are all volunteers, not professional guides. Each member accepts responsibility for their own conduct and safety (including the safety of your bicycle and any other equipment) during club rides. You take part in club rides entirely at your own risk.
