I did a brief research on the author I mentioned who died recently. She is Régine Deforges. According to Wiki, her works were often censored for being too erotic. The French news I watched referred to her as a major figure among French feminists. She was also the first woman to own and operate a publishing house (per Wiki). (She was called "The High Priestess" by the French press.) Her major bestseller was "La Bicyclette Bleue" (The Blue Bicycle) in 1981. I don't see an English version; there's a DVD of the film (2000), but without subtitles. I do see her book "L'Orage" ("The Storm") translated into English. I have not read any of her writings but it looks interesting. Wiki has a long list of her books and essays. Ciao
